Neartown Little League “NLL” has an annual tradition where we begin our baseball season with amazing fun and a memorable parade where we raise the new American Flag high into the sky as a symbol for all to see and a reminder of our nation's strength and new beginnings. Unfortunately, NLL was not able to carry our annual tradition this year due to Covid-19. Neartown Little League is committed to our community and feels it is more important now than ever to fly our Nation’s flag. Today, with the help of Capitol Flag Company, Neartown Little League proudly raises the American Flag as well as the new Neartown Little League Flag. Please take a moment and watch this video. We hope it will spark strength, courage, and resilience within each of us. We are still unsure if NLL will have a Spring 2020 baseball season. NLL wants to reassure everyone that we are continuing to improve and expand the Ervin Chew Park – Weber Field with the help from our sponsors and the HPARD. Together, we plan to make this park a true gem for the whole community.

As we have mentioned before, Little League International announced that the Little League World Series and all Sectional Tournaments are canceled. Baseball League activities have not been approved by the County or the Governor's office. On Monday May 18th, Governor Abbott is scheduled to make an announcement regarding the next phase for reopening the State.  The NLL Board will review the next reopening phase, HPARD, review the NLL Restart Survey, and make a final decision at that time on whether or not we move forward with the remainder of our season.
