Fall Ball Season is upon us. Many of you have reached out to me inquiring about the Fall Ball 2020 Status. NLL is waiting patiently to hear from the Houston Parks and Recreation Department (“HPARD”) regarding our required baseball field permits for the Weber and West Gray fields. These permits were canceled earlier this year due to Covid-19. NLL is in constant communication with the HPARD and will keep our NLL community informed as soon as we have received the “Green light” for our parks permit. Per our conversations with the HPARD any teams or leagues currently practicing or playing at the fields do not have an authorized Parks Permit. Per HPARD,
“HPARD is still not accepting any permits for use of the fields, therefore, anyone utilizing the field has not obtained a permit. In an effort to reduce the community spread of COVID-19, the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD) has extended its cancellation of all private permitted reservations until further notice. This includes permitted reservations such as private leagues and private gatherings at an HPARD park. We are allowing customers to use our facilities (pavilions) and sports fields (practice/recreational fields) as a first come first serve basis, but ONLY to those of groups of 4 or less.”
NLL coaches, families, and players~
If you have a small group of players, (keeping in mind the above HPARD requirements), please know that NLL welcomes all to begin practicing. Once NLL has received confirmation of open fields and our permits have been reinstated, NLL will reach out to the NLL community.
