Neartown Little League had a successful donation event on Saturday, December 5 where the community came together and donated new or gently used jackets or warm clothing for the families at Emergency Aid Coalition servicing inner-city families on the edge of poverty. They also had the opportunity to bring new and gently used baseball equipment to donate and exchange. Thank you to all of those who stopped by and took part in this Exchange and Donation.
Sallie Alcorn - Council Member At Large Position 5 partnered with Neartown Little League to provide Houston Zoo tickets for many of these families. Neartown Little League is not just a baseball league, we understand the importance of helping our community on and off the baseball field.
We plan to have another Baseball Equipment Exchange and Donation drive on January 9 during our tryouts. More details to come. Registration is now open. Consider registering early and receive a discount available until December 31, 2020. We hope to see you in the Spring of 2021. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
A special thank you to the following volunteers who helped make Saturday possible:
