Day Camp at Lebanon Valley College
July 27 - 30, 2020
COVID-19 UPDATE:   We will continue to monitor local, state and federal recommendations/mandates and timelines as they pertain to this day camp.  Camp will run daily from 9:00 - 11:00am, with NO lunch break or indoor activity.  Please check back here for updates in the coming weeks.  We will also send out reminders via email to all participants closer to the camp.  Below you will find, listed in RED, some of the adaptations we are looking to make for this summer so that we can all still have a great summer camp experience.  Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Camp Plan includes (but not limited to) the following points of emphasis:
*  If a camper or staff member is sick, not feeling well, or has a fever, the camper or staff member should stay home;  parents should monitor their child's health and well being daily, including asking questions pertaining to how they are feeling before bringing them to camp
*  If someone in a camper's or staff member's household has COVID-19 or has tested positive within the past 14 days, the camper/staff member should stay home
*  Washing of hands with soap and water  (or use of appropriate hand sanitizer);  Campers should wash their hands with soap and water when they get home from camp each day
*  Each camper should bring their own water bottle, with enough water to last the 2 hours of camp each day  (we will NOT have a communal water refill station due to current guidelines/restrictions
*  Limited mixing of groups  -  each group will have a designated area/space to work for the duration of the camp week and will stay with their coach/group for the entirety of the camp experience
*  Campers will be encouraged to physical distance as much as possible during water breaks and when coaches are providing instruction.  We will play small sided games but outside of playing will encourage physical distancing as much as possible
*  Pinnies will be washed daily
*  GK specific training will be done within each group so that players are not mixing from different groups;  GK training will not be more than 30 minutes in length each day
*  As camp is daily from 9-11am, there will NOT be a lunch break or any indoor activity
*  For Drop Off each morning, campers should report directly to their coach / area.  We will not have any camp wide meetings.  At the end of camp (11am), campers will be dismissed by their coach directly from their area/group and should go to their car.  There will not be a camp wide talk or dismissal this year.
*  Parents/Guardians that stay to watch during camp should practice physical distancing from others and should be watching from a safe distance

General Information:  This summer's modified version of Day Camp is open to boys/girls, ages 5-15.  It will run from 9-11am daily.
*  Our Day Camp is open to boys and girls, ages 7-15 and is designed around the following 4 main pillars:
     1.  FUN
     2.  COMPETITION
     3.  DEVELOPMENT
     4.  CHARACTER
*  We offer top quality instruction, great facilities and a fun and engaging learning environment.
*  Campers will be trained in a manner which develops their soccer brain as well as their comfort level with the ball.   Much emphasis will be placed on individual technical skills and fundamental team / small group concepts.
*  Camp staff consists of college coaches, high school and club coaches, and current college players.
*  We offer an athletic trainer on site throughout the week.
*  Guest speakers and guest appearances  (varies from year to year)
*  Campers will be grouped by age.  We will do our best to keep friends/teammates together.  Our goal is for each camper to be in the group that is best for their development, enjoyment and overall experience.  Groups will be organized by age and will remain in their designated areas for the duration of camp each day.

Check-In:
Campers only need to check-in on Monday.  Campers will report directly to their coach/group/area each day.

Drop-Off / Pick-Up / Parking:
Campers will be dismissed directly from their group/coach at the end of camp (11am).  Campers should go directly to their car so that we can avoid large group gathering and mixing of groups.
*  Campers should be dropped off and picked up at the tent each day.  Drop-off should be between 8:40-8:55am.  Pick-Up is daily at 3:00pm.
*  Please park in designated parking spots in the lot outside Arnold Sports Center and follow the walking paths over to the tent.

Typical Daily Schedule:
Day Camp will operate on a 9-11am model.
Campers would be dropped off, stay in their groups for the duration of camp (2 hours) that day and be picked up at the conclusion of camp that day (at 11am).  There will NOT be a lunch break or any indoor activities.  We will have camp in the rain.  In the event of lightning/storms, we would suspend camp and attempt to make up the missed time by adding additional time on other days (to the best of our ability).

Day Camp will run on a modified schedule from 9:00 - 11:00am daily.  After the first day, campers will report, upon arrival (a few minutes before 9am), to their group at their designated area/space and check in with their group coach.  At the conclusion of camp each day (at 11am), campers will be dismissed from their designated area/space by their group coach.    Unlike past years, we will NOT gather as an entire camp at the beginning or end of the camp day.

Normal Daily Schedule:
9:00 - 9:05am  Daily Opening
9:15 - 11:30am            Morning Session  (includes warm-up, technical-tactical work, fun games, and small sided games)

2:55 - 3:00pm            Daily Closing

What to bring each day:
*  Please see FAQ's    Each camper should bring a water bottle large enough to last the 2 hours of camp each day.  Due to COVID-19 guidelines, we will not be able to provide refill stations.  Campers should bring their own soccer ball each day and should NOT be sharing equipment.

Inclement Weather:
*  Day Camp will run rain or shine.  In the event of inclement weather, camp will take place inside Arnold Sports Center.  (Campers must have sneakers in order to play inside.  Campers will not be allowed to play indoors if they are bare foot or are wearing sandals, flip-flops or cleats).
