Baseball Majors (Ages 9-12): $90 per child
This division promotes competition to a higher degree as compared to the Minor League. Within this more competitive environment, the emphasis remains on improving baseball skills, building individual self-esteem, promoting team camaraderie and emphasizing fair play. The division is designed to be both the satisfying culmination of some players’ Little League careers and to prepare other players for higher levels of play, including the advancement in the Little League Tournament play and readiness to move up to play on the full 90 foot diamond.
All players in the Majors are required to attend 50% of tryouts held by Page Little League per Little League International.
Players will be evaluated at tryouts in the following areas:
Throwing a ball to another player, from base to base, and from outfield to infield.
Catch a ball from another player, from a hit grounder, and from a hit fly-ball.
Batting
Base running
Pitching
Catching
Sportsmanship and teamwork
NOTE: League Age 12 year olds are entered into this division unless approved by the Board to be placed into a lower division.
General Information:
Normally 2 games per week, occasionally 3 games per week
Up to 3 - 5 practices per week
Standings kept and playoffs at end of season
Chance to be chosen onto the 9-10 YO or the 11-12 YO Tournament Team (All-Stars) at the end of the regular season.
Pitching distance is 46 feet with 60 foot bases
League provides Team jersey, hat, pants, belt and socks
Parents must provide glove and athletic supporters and may provide cleats. Some parents may also choose to purchase a bat or helmet for their child’s use.
NOTE: Athletic Supporter with cup is required for all male catchers.
