Hello to all you baseball coaches out there! Ramona Pony Baseball is very excited to announce to our baseball families that we will be offering the newStallionprogramacross all divisions and age groups for the upcoming 2019 season. As you may or may not know, theStallionprogramwas implemented in an effort to provide advanced development and competition to those players with the drive and raw abilities to perform at a high level. We saw many of our players go “down the hill” for travel baseball and wanted to have aprogramthat provided many of the benefits right here in town. To have our players play for theRamonaon the front of the jersey and not a travel team will ultimately help our players now, in high school, and continue to bring pride to the community of Ramona. TheStallionprogramwas in its infancy last year and featured a 12U team. While the original goal was to have multiple teams, the one team format allowed the league to assess the process and learn from both successes and areas of opportunity. Overall the team was a huge success, not only for how far the 12U team advanced in RBI, Fallbrook, and the EOY tournament, but for how well the season went for the members of the team, coaching staff, and families involved. The level of competition and coaching on a consistent basis, was a huge opportunity for the players to grow as athletes and as young men. Each team will essentially be its ownprogram, similar to All Stars, but with much more logistical freedom (think travel ball) But representing Ramona. Managers will be responsible for: Scheduling games Scheduling practices Coordinating practices Coordinating umpires Player selection Tryouts Fundraising Uniforms Tournament fees It takes a dedicated group of adults to make each team a successfulprogram. It requires a well planned and implemented agenda to even get off the ground. If you would like to be aStallionmanager for the 2019 season, we are currently accepting applications November 2-24. Interviews will be conducted on November 26thand 27th. At the interview (or before), please bring your plan for upcoming season and be prepared to discuss with the committee and answer any questions. We look forward to a successful 2019! |
