Greg Hutcherson (Founder & Director of Basketball Operations)
In 2010, Coach Hutch founded Top Level Athletics with a focus on developing athletes throughout Western, PA. Shortly after, he started the Top Level All-Stars AAU Basketball Program. Coach Hutch was a graduate of Kiski Area High School where he was inducted into the Sports Hall Of Fame in 2014. After high school, Hutch continued his academic/athletic career attending Bowling Green State University for 2 years and then transferring to Indiana State University for his remaining 3 years, studying Exercise Science. In 2011 he was hired as the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Ford City High School, reviving the program and leading them to a playoff appearance in his first season. From 2011-2014 he remained as the head coach leading them to two playoff appearances. In 2015 he was hired as the first ever Armstrong Boys Head Basketball Coach where he currently is in charge of the program. In 2016, Coach Hutch led the Armstrong Riverhawks to a playoff appearance and was named the 2017 Armstrong County Coach of the Year.
Corey Smith – (Head Skill Coach, Director of Baseball Operations)
Coach Corey was a standout athlete at Kiski Area High School and continued his playing career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for one season before transferring to Wilmington College in Ohio. While there, Coach Corey broke numerous school records. For the past 5 years, he has coached at Armstrong, Ford City, Apollo Ridge, Valley, and is currently the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Leechburg High School. In his first year at Leechburg, Coach Smith's team went on to the WPIAL playoffs. Coach Corey has a strong reputation as being one of the best skill coaches in Western, PA. He is also the Director of Baseball for Top Level.
Kristian Clayton
Coach Kris was a strong athlete who graduated from Kiski Area High School. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four years. While serving, he resided in California where he played several years of semi pro football. Coach Kris has over 12 years of coaching experience on the youth and high school level. He was an assistant coach at Ford City and Armstrong High Schools for 4 years and is currently an assistant coach at Leechburg High School.
Mark Chepkevich
Coach Chep was a stellar athlete at St. Joseph High School. After high school, he attended West Virginia University completing his bachelors, and continued on to Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he earned his Masters. Coach Chep was a successful coach in the Ryan’s Irish AAU Program for many years. Coach Chep's team has had the most wins and championships in Top Level history.
Shawn Bennis
Coach Bennis was a standout athlete at Highlands High School. After high school, he continued his career at Penn State University of New Kensington. From there, he went on to finish his college career at Carlow University. Coach Bennis is a 24 year coaching veteran with stops at Highlands, Kiski Area, and currently is the head coach at Burrell High School. He has 8 years of playoff head coaching experience, was part of a WPIAL runner up, and a WPIAL championship team.
Detrell Hutcherson
Coach D was a stellar athlete at Peabody High School. After high school he continued his career at Waynesburg University. Coach D is known as one of the best athletes to come out of the city league. He has over 10 years of coaching experience on the youth and high school level. Currently, he is the Head 9th grade Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Penn Hills High School. This past season, Coach D was part of a section championship and one of the biggest turnaround seasons in school history.
Isaiah Gonzalez
Coach Gonzalez is a Jamestown Alumni, from New York City, who helped lead Rice High School to two NYS & NYC Championships. Coach Gonzalez has over ten years of coaching experience and has a great reputation of motivating players to achieve their goals on and off the court. This is Coach Gonzalez's 2nd season with Top Level.
Mike Foster
Coach Foster is a graduate of Highlands High School were he was a standout multi- sport athlete. Coach Foster has over 15 years of coaching experience, and has built a rich tradition of working with athletes on all levels. Not only has he coached girls and boys basketball, but also is currently the Assistant Varsity Track Coach and the Head Middle School Track Coach at Highlands.
Troy Akins
Coach Troy Akins was an outstanding athlete at Aliquippa High School in both football and basketball. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he continued to compete in basketball while serving his country. As a seasoned coach, he has over 12 years of experience coaching athletes in grades K-8 in both basketball and football at various school districts. Coach Troy is excited about his new venture in coaching with Top Level All-Stars.
Coach Troy just completed his first season with the 2016-2017 Champion Woodland Hills Metro third grade basketball team. He is also the coach of the undefeated Woodland Hills Youth Football Association’s 8U. He is looking forward to using his coaching experience to assist the fourth grade team to a victorious season
Steve Bielak
Coach Bielak is a graduate of Erie Cathedral Prep where he was a standout athlete and later went on to continue his sports career at Allegheny College. From Allegheny, he transferred to Edinboro University where he finished his college career. Coach Bielak has over 18 years of coaching experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Top Level Program.
Bruce Baillie
Coach Baillie was a three sport athlete from Ford City High School who went on to continue his athletic and and academic career at Marietta College. Coach Bruce has over 25 years of coaching experience on the the high school, elementary, and AAU levels. He has had an enormous amount of success on all three levels.
John Bowser
Coach Bowser just completed his 9th year coaching at the high school level. Coach John is building a reputation of being a hard working young coach. He was a standout player for Kittanning High School and completed his undergrad and masters at IUP. Coach Bowser currently is the Head JV Coach at Armstrong High School as well as a Varsity Assistant.
Heather Davis
Coach Heather was a 4 sport athlete from Ford City High School. She then went on to continue her athletic and academic career at Waynesburg University, where she graduated with an athletic training degree. At Waynesburg, she was a three year starter on the woman's basketball team and also competed on the women's golf team for two years. She has made the transition from player to coach this past fall/winter coaching a youth boys travel team.
Craig Riggle
Coach Riggle was a standout basketball player in high school and college. Coach Craig attended school at Ford City High School and then went on to play college basketball and continue his academic career at Valley Forge Christian College. He has been coaching basketball for 16 years and currently is the 7th grade coach at Armstrong High School.
