The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with disabilities.
Any individual with a disability may participate. The Challenger Program is divided into two groups for play: Little League Division (ages 4 to 18) and Senior League Division (18+).
There is no fee to register for the State College Little League Challenger program.
All State College Challenger games are played at Sichler Field, behind Mount Nittany Middle School; Little League encourages the use of traditional fields for the Challenger Program so that participants can enjoy playing on the same fields as other Little Leaguers in the community
2024 game dates will be: May 11, 18, 25; June 1, 15, 22 and 29. Senior League games are at 9:00 am (players should arrive by 8:45am), and Little League games are at 10:30 am (players should arrive by 10:15 am). Typically games are 1-2 innings long and last about an hour to 90 minutes. All players play defensively and bat every inning.
The Challenger program partners “buddies” with Little League Division Challenger athletes to assist in the areas of batting, base running and defense, but only as needed. Often buddies are peer athletes who are participating in the Little League Baseball or Softball program.
