Description of our Little League programs

  • Tee Ball is the introduction to the game of baseball for 4 - 6 year olds in a non competitive program focused on fun, fitness and fundamentals.   to provide a Tee Ball experience focused on teaching the fundamentals of the game and basic baseball skills with an eye on preparing players for the next levels of Little League.  By providing a fun and exciting experience, the children will not only enjoy their season but will be open to experience other physical activities that promote health and fitness.  Tee Ball also serves as the gateway for parents and guardians to enter the realm of coaching and volunteering which is the backbone of Little League.
  • Coach Pitch is the stepping stone division which introduces players to "live" pitching and a true softball experience.  For players aged 6-8,  this age group promotes further skill development, general softball knowledge and situational awareness.  Building off of Tee Ball, more advanced drills and a higher softball IQ are stressed in a fun, competitive environment. Coach Pitch also serves as a great training ground for Coaches who are encouraged to expand their practices and refine their knowledge of Little League game rules.
  • For Players ages 8-10, the Minors division is the first exposure to the Little League game they will play going forward.  This is a player pitch Division where score is kept.  There are umpires and a tournament at the end of the season with a championship game and an All-Star team that will compete in the District Tournament.  The Division is seen as a developmental league stressing sportsmanship, team building, quality playing time and acquiring game skills.  Building upon Coach Pitch, players will be encouraged to play all positions, including pitcher as they are ultimately prepared for the Majors Division.
  • The Majors Division is for ages 11-12 and is a highly competitive player pitch division which plays with live ball rules. There are umpires and a tournament at the end of the season with a championship game and an All-Star team that will compete in the District Tournament.  This is the division that competes in Williamsport, PA for the Little League World Series. While games are competitive in nature, in keeping with our league philosophy, fun, sportsmanship and skills development remain paramount. Majors players will be exposed to further instruction to enhance their understanding of the game and game situations as well as improve their physical prowess.  Position specific instruction may be introduced at this level.
  • The JR/SR League Division is for ages 13-16.  This division uses a conventional high school size field with standard pitching and base distances and stresses skills and knowledge used in high school level competition and beyond.
