The difference between Intro and Rookie coach pitch.

At our park we offer two different levels of coach pitch, intro and rookie.   Intro coach pitch is meant for 6 year old players moving up from t ball.   This level allows the use of the tball "T" after 5 pitches for the first part of the season.  Scores are kept during the game but no standings are kept and no tournament is held at this level.   Midway through the season the rules advance to the rookie rules including 3 strikes and your out and no more use of the "T".   Since the division is made up of all 6 year olds players have an opportunity to play infield and many of the positions on the field versus in the past when 6 year olds were mostly played in the outfield in coach pitch.

The Rookie level of coach pitch is made up of mostly 7 year old players along with some 6 and 8 year olds.  It is considered competitive players are allowed 5 pitches but 3 swings are an out, no "T" is used and advancing on the bases is allowed.    At this level wins and losses are recorded, standings are kept and at the end of the season a tournament is held.
