FC Stallions Coaching Philosophy:

Our coaching philosophy is centered on coach, and player’s wellbeing and safety foremost, individual responsibility, and accountability for actions, fair play on, and off the field, team first attitude, commitment to the sport, and to the team, and a sincere individual effort towards being a better team mate, and person each and every day.  Team-Mindset above all else, willingness to stand up for each other, and sacrifice for each other are actionable, and measurable key components of our philosophy.

Our philosophy innately discourages bullying, and simultaneously encourages lasting friendships, trust between all participants, and support from coaches, team mates, and parents.  Overall proper execution of the philosophy changes the thought process of the players, removes game theatrics, increases the “FUN, EXCITEMENT, and ENJOYMENT” aspect, and encourages respect, and consideration to, and from all the participants, including members of the opposing teams, and shared referees.

It is imperative that we, as educators, spend a fair amount of time not only training the necessary foot skills of each individual player, but also the minds of each player. Learning to trust your team-mates, adapting and accepting coaching, training regimens, disciplines, and environment can be daunting to anyone one, especially young minds.  To that end we dedicate a fair amount of time to teaching the thought process behind what a team really is and helping encouraging our athletes to feel comfortable and empowered.  No ONE athlete in soccer can be successful without the support of whole team.  For many young players it is a mindset shift that is quite frankly unfamiliar.  When a player, at any age, is comfortable and happy with their environment, their level of participation and performance is elevated dramatically.  Our ideology of coaching the minds of our athletes is truly a criterion for success on and off the field.

 
We take pride knowing, and truly understanding that what each player is able to learn is far more valuable that what we are collectively able to teach. The intent is not to script each thought or movement of each player, but to provide a lasting foundation of sound decision making, positional awareness, and consideration towards each other. That foundation, in and of itself, will pay huge dividends as they get older, meet new team mates, friends, colleagues, and advance in their respective specialties. It is a vital step in becoming better people, and not just better soccer players.
