Welcome 2019 ELAX Families!
Your ELAX Board has been working hard for YOU in the off season to bring the best season yet to our families. We are so excited for all that our program is offering this year. Read through this entire email as there is lots of important information. As a reminder, as we enter our second year in the IBLA (Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association), we are wiser and more experienced. Following our last season's highs (4th Grade IBLA CHAMPIONS!!!) and lower points, we realized we need to adapt and make adjustments to our ELAX teams to remain competitive, promote safety and have fun. We have amazing talent in Elmhurst - we can and will succeed! To that end, the ELAX 5th/6th (U12) and 7th/8th (U14) grade teams will be skill based.
All players will be evaluated on multiple criteria by independent lacrosse evaluators. Players who are chosen for the Select teams will need to commit to ELAX above all other sports during the ELAX season. Our ELAX players in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade levels (U8 and U10) will continue to be evaluated and placed on evenly balanced teams building on the skills to success at their age. All of this gets started with our Evaluation Days!
EVALUATIONS
Mandatory evaluation days for U14 and U12 will be at Naperville Yard on 02/23/2019 and 03/02/2019. The schedule for both days is as follows :
U14 Evaluation will be from 8am - 10am
U12 Evaluation will be from 10am - 12pm
It is requested that all players attend their scheduled evaluation time; however, if scheduling conflicts exist, there is a Make Up time slot of 2pm - 4pm for any U14 or U12 player. Please make sure your player shows up early to get checked in and get their gear on - evaluations will start on time.
On those same days, our U10 players will attend Skills Training sessions from 12pm - 2pm. These sessions are critical to getting our youngest division off on the right track!
To help the Evaluation Check In process go smoothly, we are looking for a few volunteers for each time slot to help check players in. If you can spare 30 minutes during the time your player is attending, please consider volunteering here :

TEAMS & PRACTICES
Following Evaluations, players will be notified of their team placement during the week of 03/04/2019. The first practices for ALL TEAMS will take place on 03/09/2019 and 03/16/2019 at Naperville Yard. All players are expected to attend both practices. The times for both days are as follows :
U14 will practice from 8am - 10am
U12 will practice from 10am - 12pm
U10 will practice from 12pm - 2pm
TOURNAMENTS
This year, ELAX will be sending teams to the Border Wars Tournament during the weekend of May 11-12, 2019. ELAX Select Teams from the U14 and U12 levels will attend this tournament. In addition, there will be a Sign Up Genius for an additional team for players interested in attending at the U10, U12 and U14 levels. Be on the look out for the Sign Up Genius after teams are formed. As with all weekends, ELAX Select Teams are expected to prioritize ELAX and the IBLA scheduled games in their sports scheduling.
DICK'S DAYS
This year, ELAX has once again paired up with Dick's Sports as one of our sponsors. Dick's is offering TWO separate Dick's Days for our ELAX players to get everything they need to get the season started. Attached is the flyer for ELAX players to receive 20% off their entire purchase during the weekend of February 16-17. There will be a second Dick's Days in March...stay tuned for that flyer!
FANWEAR
This year, ELAX is utilizing the FAN WEAR site on our website for all of your ELAX Gear. You will be able to order your ELAX gear and have it shipped directly to you from our website. The FAN WEAR link will go live in the next few days so be on the look out for that announcement.
