BBVC Club Dues Increase

This year you will notice an increase in BBVC club dues. This increase is anywhere from $75 to $125, depending on which team you are placed. The reason for this is two-fold.

In 2017, BBVC was able to obtain practice space at Mike's Fieldhouse through the placement of 4 Sports Courts. This eased the practicing burden as gym space is limited from December - March due to multiple basketball teams in the Klamath Basin all clamoring for practice space. With the implementation of the Sport Courts at MFH, BBVC teams were able to have fairly routine practice schedules that were held at a reasonable hour during the day. The cost of the Sport Courts were were split between MFH and BBVC. In 2018, MFH advised BBVC that they would not be able to split the cost of the Sport Courts for the 2018-19 season. In turn, the rental cost of the Sport Courts has to be absorbed by the BBVC Membership.

Additionally, in 2018, the BBVC Board discussed recruitment and retention of experienced coaching staff. The conclusion of this discussing ended in a decision to pay BBVC coaches - congruent with many other club sport programs. We hope that the increased experience of our hired coaches will encourage longevity with our program and increase the skill-level of our member athletes.

A review of our club dues revealed that volleyball clubs as close as Medford, and as far away as Portland have club dues that are significantly higher than the recent BBVC increase:

Rogue Valley Volleyball Club (Medford, OR). AAU (all ages) $350 and USAV (all ages) $655 for a 3 month season.
Southern Oregon Volleyball Club (Medford, OR). AAU $400-$425, with additional cost for USAV Tournaments.
Webfoot Juniors (Eugene, OR). USAV. Down Payment of $400-$700, additional monthly payments based on tournaments.
Portland Volleyball Club (Portland, OR). USAV $1150-$1900 (depending on age).
Northwest Pacific Juniors (Salem & Bend, OR). USAV. $2100-$3500.
Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy (Portland, OR). USAV. $1850-$4060.

BBVC endeavors to keep dues as low as possible while covering club expenses to continue yearly operations. To ease the burden of a payment of full club dues by 12/1/18, we will provide 2 different payment plan options to spread out payments through 03/01/19.
