Dr. Murczek came to Klamath Falls in March of 2020 as the new Oregon Tech Women's Volleyball Head Coach.  Immediately upon moving to town, Murczek reached out to BBVC to continue the collaboration and partnership that BBVC has historically enjoyed with Oregon Tech's WVB.  Murczek jumped in and helped provide youth volleyball opportunities during the pandemic.  Murczek helped build the BBVC Sand Volleyball Court, instructed some BBVC beach volleyball clinics, provided individual and small group lessons to BBVC members, and provided virtual and grass volleyball clinics to youth in the Klamath Basin.  In the Fall of 2020, Murczek accepted a position on the BBVC Board and continued to creatively find ways to offer skilled volleyball instruction to youth in the Klamath Basin.  Murczek, along with the Oregon Tech WVB Program, will run the Basin Bombers Volleyball Academy - to provide high level volleyball instruction to youth who are unable to participate in the BBVC USAV/CEVA Teams.

Prior to Oregon Tech, Murczek spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the San Diego State volleyball program. A former Aztec men's volleyball player, Murczek brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Owls, including nine years as a head coach at the NCAA level. He was the head coach of the men's volleyball program at the University of Charleston in West Virginia during the spring of 2017, following a three-year stint as head coach of the women's team at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  Murczek was also the head coach at the University of North Texas for three years.  Prior to that he served as an assistant coach at the University of Kansas, University of Virginia, Western Michigan University and Purdue University.  He was also the head coach as Saint Joseph's College, Cuyamaca College and West Hills High School.  Over his 25 years of coaching, he has been affiliated with multiple USAV clubs across the United States.
Murczek continues to play high-level, competitive volleyball.  He currently holds CBVA AAA rating on the beach and has won back to back gold medals (2018-2019) at the USA Volleyball adult nationals with Team Pineapple.
