Who We Are
Grizzlies Basketball Club is built on a strong foundation of mentorship, education, and youth development. Our roots trace back to T.E.A.M. (Tutoring, Enlightening, and Mentoring), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2007 with a mission to guide youth toward positive choices, academic success, and productive futures.
Through positive relationships, structured programming, and community engagement, T.E.A.M. was created to help young people stay focused, build character, and remain actively involved in positive environments. These core principles continue to guide Grizzlies Basketball Club today.
How It Started
T.E.A.M. began as a mentorship-driven nonprofit focused on addressing the academic, social, and personal development needs of youth. The organization emphasized:
• Positive youth relationships
• Academic encouragement and accountability
• Character development
• Keeping youth engaged in safe, productive environments
Over time, it became clear that sports, particularly basketball, could serve as a powerful extension of this mission.
Expansion Into Basketball
Grizzlies Basketball Club was established as a natural expansion of T.E.A.M.’s mission, using basketball as a structured platform to reach and mentor youth. The program integrates athletic skill development with academic support, leadership training, and life skills education.
Through competitive and instructional basketball programming, Grizzlies Basketball Club provides young athletes with consistent mentorship, positive role models, and opportunities to grow both on and off the court. Basketball is not just the focus, it is the vehicle through which discipline, teamwork, confidence, and responsibility are taught.
Individualized Development
At Grizzlies Basketball Club, we recognize that every athlete is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to youth development. Each child comes to our program with different strengths, challenges, and life experiences, and our approach reflects that understanding.
We believe:
• Every child has unique needs and potential
• Different circumstances require individualized support and guidance
• Positive role models with shared life experiences can create meaningful, lasting impact
Our staff and coaches focus on meeting athletes where they are and intentionally guiding them toward growth, both on and off the court.
