Volunteer Requirement – Bridge of the Gods Little League
At Bridge of the Gods Little League, we are 100% volunteer-run. Every game played, every snack served, and every field prepared happens because families step up and give their time. To keep our league strong, sustainable, and affordable, starting Spring 2026 all families will participate in our Volunteer Requirement Program.
Why a Volunteer Requirement?
Over the past two seasons, a small group of parents and board members has carried the majority of the workload. While we are incredibly grateful for their dedication, this model isn’t sustainable—and it doesn’t reflect the community spirit that Little League is built on.
The Volunteer Requirement ensures that every family contributes, allowing us to:
Provide the best possible experience for our players
Share the workload more evenly
Keep registration costs as low as possible
Our league is only as strong as the people who support it. Great experiences don’t happen by accident—and our kids deserve the very best. When many people pitch in, the work becomes lighter, the season runs smoother, and volunteering becomes a rewarding way to connect with our community.
Areas Where We Need Support
There are many ways to get involved, and no experience is required for most roles:
Coaching – Help teach skills, sportsmanship, and confidence
Umpiring – Support fair, well-officiated games our players can learn from
Scorekeeping – Keep games running smoothly and help players learn the flow of the game
Snack Shack – Serve our families while supporting a great cause (all proceeds go back to kids in our community through the Backwoods Foundation)
Events – Help make Opening Day and other league events special
Field Maintenance – Preseason prep, dragging, chalking, and keeping fields safe and playable
Administration / Board Support – Registration, scheduling, accounting, fundraising, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps the league running
Team Parent- Help support the coach! Manage the dugout, snack sign-ups, etc.
Please note: Volunteers working directly with players (such as coaches and umpires) are required to complete a background check.
How to Get Involved
When registering your player, please consider signing up to volunteer. Every role—big or small—makes a difference.
Volunteer Opt-Out Fee
We understand that not every family is able to volunteer due to work schedules, family commitments, or other circumstances. For those families, a $25 volunteer opt-out fee will be available.
Funds collected through the opt-out fee will be used to:
Provide scholarships for youth in our community
Support equipment maintenance and replacement
Help cover baseball mounds, baseballs, and softballs, ensuring safe and high-quality play for all players.
This option allows families to continue supporting the league in a meaningful way when volunteering time is not possible.
