Brookside Field Renovations

We have started our plan to renovate Brookside Park Baseball fields. We don't have the money to do a complete overhaul of the park, which is greatly needed, so we have put to together a plan to do the renovations that we can as we have the money and man power. The goals are to first get the fields playable, and do the necessary upgrades to improve the experience for the kids. We have plans to improve the areas for the parents as well, but the fields are where we are focusing our efforts first.
Our first step in this process was to raise the infield of Brookside 1. The infield was essentially a bowl, with many low spots that encouraged water to sit and cause puddles. We moved close to 26 yards of topsoil onto the field and placed sod over the entire infield. This was done by volunteers and generous businesses in the community, such as Wantage Excavating and Fair Lain Sod.
