Clyde LL Mudcats (Minor) Lose Lead Early in Defeat

Clyde LL Mudcats (Minor) watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-3 loss to Merkel Bankers on Wednesday.
Merkel scored on a double by Noah D and a single by Connor P in the first inning.

Clyde struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Merkel, giving up 12 runs.

Merkel got on the board in the first inning. Noah D doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Merkel scored five runs in the second inning. Falcon S, Noah D, and Beau S each drove in runs during the inning.

Cason B got the start for. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking one.

Hagen Hildreth was on the pitcher's mound for Clyde. Hildreth went two innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out four. Haygen Aaron threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Aaron, Eli Maynard, Thomas Rogers, and Jett Armstrong each collected one hit to lead Clyde.

Merkel tallied 13 hits. Keagan L, Noah D, Cason B, Beau S, and Connor P each had multiple hits for Merkel. Connor P led Merkel with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
