ABE Dads' Club Basketball 2018-19

Game Time

1. Four 8 minute running quarters.

2. 1 minute break between quarters.

3. 5 – minute break between halves.

Goal Height

1. 1^st and 2^nd grade girls, 1^st grade boys (8.5’)

2. 2^nd grade boys (9’)

Possession

1. Start of game starts with a jump ball.

2. Possession for 2^nd half will depend on who has the ball last at the end of the 2^nd quarter.

3. Players match up using wristbands of like color.

Clock stoppage

1. Clock may stop 1 time per half per team for a timeout.

2. Clock may stop due to an on – court injury.

3. Clock will stop anytime due to a substitution.

Defense

1. Players will not reach to steal the ball and players will not block shots. When this happens the players are reminded to not steal or block and the ball is given back to the team who originally had possession.

2. No guarding or “pressing” in the back court. Defense will start at the half court line once the ball is brought up to the half court line.

3. Only man to man defense is permitted.

Number of players

1. All age groups will pay 5v5.

General Notes

1. Please have spectators park in the front of the school. Please do not park in the back of the school.  The causes problems for the custodial staff.

2. Entry to the gym is at the rear of the building.  Everyone will be required to walk around the building to enter.

3. Kids are all to remain in the gym.  They are not allowed to walk the halls.

4. The League follows all MSDLT closure. If school is closed, so is basketball.
