Sam grew up in the Easley/Pickens area. She played volleyball in Easley from the eighth grade up until her Senior year in high school. She played for Carolina One for three years. She attended Southern Wesleyan University for two years. She previously coached at Foothills Volleyball Club and was the JV coach at Easley High School. Sam is currently the JV Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Powdersville High School.
