Ellington Little League (ELL) has held multiple discussions with Little League International, the Eastern Region of Little League Baseball, and Connecticut District 8 to review how to address Spring/Summer baseball during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary focus of each review and discussion has been the safety and welfare of our players, coaches, and spectators. We have also focused discussions on how a league will educate participants and enforce the safety protocols as outlined by the State and Local authorities.
As an outcome of these discussions the ELL Board of Directors has decided to cancel the following levels of play for the Spring/Summer Season:
- Tee Ball, Instructional, Farm, and Minors
- The ELL Board of Directors is continuing to assess the viability of a Summer program for the Majors and Juniors/Seniors divisions of baseball and the decision on moving forward with these levels of plays are expected to be made within the next 2-3 weeks.
ELL would like to express our gratitude and appreciations to all the front-line workers especially the members of ELL that have been serving our community during these unprecedented times.
We remain optimistic that we will be able to resume play in the younger divisions this fall and will continue to provide updates as we progress on that front.
Stay healthy, stay positive.
