After much planning and preparation, we are in position to begin activity for the 2020 Majors season!!!
Over the last several weeks the Ellington Little League Board of Directors reviewed and discussed the CDC, Little League International, and Phase 2 of CT State guidelines to be able to develop a plan to move forward with a season this year.
This will certainly be a much different type of year for youth sports. Each year our top priority is the safety of our players and volunteers, and this year due to COVID-19 we have added many more safety process and protocols to our standard safety plan for a “typical season”. This will require players, coaches, and fans to continually adhere to these guidelines throughout the season.
The league will be holding a training program to go over these guidelines in detail with all of the coaches for this season before practices begin. We are also available to answer any questions our players or parents and family members of our players may have.
We’re excited about returning to the diamond, and to be out working with the kids in Majors.
While we are currently ready to launch only the Majors program at this time, the Board is reviewing approaches that would make it possible to organize and run clinics and activities in possibly late July and August for the younger players in our league
We can’t do this alone, we need your help. Every player, parent, coach, spectator has to help out by following the rules so we can run a safe, successful, and fun season.
If you have questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact any of the Board members listed above. We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces out at the fields shortly!!!
