The
Ellington Little League Board of Directors is pleased to announce that
East Windsor little league baseball players of all levels (Tee Ball to
Majors) will play with Ellington Little League in 2022. This
partnership builds off of the one created in 2021 where East Windsor
players at the Majors level played with our Ellington teams.
Like many towns, both Ellington and East Windsor have both seen reductions in league participation over the past few seasons. This
partnership will help bolster the quality of each of our divisions by
ensuring kids are playing at the proper division and that we have enough
teams in each division to facilitate the true Little League experience
for our children.
Most
games and practices will continue to be held at Robert Tedford Memorial
Park, but as our managers can attest New England weather in the spring
makes getting as much practice time as desired challenging at times. Osburn
Park in East Windsor will now become available for use by our teams,
which should help ease some of the field availability burden we see in
the spring.
We
will be working closely with the current EWLL Board of Directors to
ensure as smooth a transition as possible for our East Windsor families. In
addition, Jeff Zyra, the President of EWLL, will be joining the
Ellington Board of Directors for the 2022 season as an Advisor.
Having two children participating in this Little League I have seen how welcoming our baseball community is in Ellington. Please join me in welcoming our neighbors from East Windsor!
Sincerely,
Jared Albert, ELL President & the ELL Board of Directors
