Panther Lacrosse

Team History

Oceanside's club team was founded in 2007, fielding a Middle School team for the first two years. Oceanside United competed in the Pacific Lacrosse League (PLL) in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 making it to the Semi-Finals in each of those years, and the Finals in 2012 & 2013. Oceanside United won the PLL Championship in 2012 and went on to achieve a second Place finish in the 2012 California State Club Championships.  In 2013 Oceanside finished the season with a second place finish in the PLL and fourth place in the 2013 California State Club Championships.

For the 2014 season, the goal of CIF inclusion of Lacrosse at El Camino High School was achieved, and the existing Oceanside United Lacrosse Club transitioned to a CIF program for those club members attending El Camino High School.  For those players outside of the El Camino High School residency area, the High School Club Program transitioned to Vista, California, as the Panther Lacrosse Club practicing and playing at Vista High School.

The 2014 Panthers program was hugely successful. As a first year program, the Panthers final record was 8-4, with a third place finish in the Pacific Lacrosse League.  As a measure of how the Panthers stacked up against the rest of the state, we finished #2 in Southern California, and #10 overall in the state according to the LaxPower rankings.  We sent six boys to the PLL All-Star Game in which our boys were on the victorious Red Team, combining for 6 of 9 goals in a 9-7 victory over the opposing Blue Team.

After many seasons as a top team in the PLL the boys team won the PLL Championship in May 2019.

Covid-19 stole the 2020 and 2021 season.
