Granite Peak Little League (GPLL) is a fully-chartered Little League that operates within the District 1 Little League that represents the greater Billings, Montana area. The ages for children playing on the GPLL teams are from four years old to 18 years old. All games are played either in Columbus, Billings Leagues (Heights, Boulder-Arrowhead, Burlington, Central Giants, Big Sky, Lockwood, and Riverside), Hardin, Red Lodge, Shepherd, and Huntley. From the perspective of District 1 and National Little League, GPLL is one league that encompasses Columbus, Absarokee, and Roberts. Columbus takes the lead for all these towns and pays 100% of all LL charter and insurance fees at the beginning of each year. Beyond sharing charter and insurance fees, Absarokee and Roberts each manage their own program independently as far as fundraising, registration, team selection, and coaching is concerned. The exception to this is whenever circumstances cause kids from different towns to play on the same team. GPLL is totally staffed with volunteers and depends upon registration fees and business sponsorship's for its budget. The only “paid” employees are umpires that get paid for the games they call.
