SUNDAY WORKOUT FOR MINORs COACH PTICH & TEE BALL divisions, includes grades pre-k thru 2nd (for baseball and softball) will begin on March 15th (times to be announced).

PARENT MEETING - we will have a parent meeting at the Salem Volunteer Fire Department on Sunday February 9th starting @ 5pm.  At this meeting, we will to introduce our new board, review the baseball & softball divisions with parents and discuss general plans for the upcoming season.

VOLUNTEER COACHES CLINICs:   part of the Little League Safety Plan is for each little league to provide its parents/volunteers with a Coaching Clinic.  District 10 Little League is offering a FREE coaches clinic on SUNDAY MARCH 8th from 9am-12pm @ Clark Lane Middle School (105 Clark Ln, Waterford, CT 06385) .  For those interested in volunteering to manage/coach baseball or softball this season, we strongly suggest that you attend this clinic.  In support of this event, there will not be any Sunday workouts on March 8th, to provide our volunteers with the opportunity to attend this free coaches’ clinic.

PLAYER ASSESSMENT:  Baseball and Softball will have player assessment on Sunday February 23rd and Sunday March 1st (times to be announced - must attend 1 of these sessions).  None of the kids will be cut, the assessment serves several purposes. The primary reason for the assessment is safety, we want to ensure that we have the kids in the correct divisions, to reduce the risk of injury and maximize the amount of fun.  Also depending on the number of kids registered, if we have enough for 2 teams, then we would do our best to balance the talent or skill levels across the two teams.  This is typically what occurs in much larger towns or little league programs, they have a "draft" or "draft / assessment" where the coaches assess and pick kids for teams.

OPENING DAY CEREMONYSaturday April 25th (time to be announced) with a rain or make-up date is Sunday April 26th.

NOTE: Volunteers for this season need to complete a background check prior to participating any off season program. Also there will be a late fee for registrations after March 15th, so please register prior to March 15th to avoid the late fee.

If you need to contact us, please send an email to [email protected] .

Thank you,

David Donat
