RULES AND INFORMATION FOR 12U – 14U
1. Unless exceptions are noted, games will be played according to the official PONY League rules.
2. Refund – 0 games (100%), 1 game (50%) 2 games – no refund. 3 game guarantee.
3. All players on a team must be from the same baseball community and on team roster. Up to two additional players not living in the community may be added to each team.
4. Players must not reach the next higher age prior to May 1st.
5. Team roster must be turned in prior to your first game. Copies of birth certificates must be available for review at the time of registration. Roster sheet must be filled out completely.
6. 2 ¼ inch, 2 5/8 inch and 2 ¾ bats are allowed but must have 1.15 bpf stamp or USA bat stamp. All drop (-3) bats must meet BBCOR standards.
7. All players must play a minimum of 2 innings in the field. If game is called because of mercy rule then two inning minimum rule will not be enforced.
8. Pitchers may pitch no more than 3 innings per game Once a pitcher is removed from the game then he may not pitch again in the same game.
9. Pitchers may pitch no more than 7 innings in one day. Inning is counted as soon as one pitch is delivered. Arm care is encouraged.
10. Games will consist of 7 innings with a 1 hour and 45-minute time limit. No new inning will begin after 1 hour 45 minutes.
11. Mercy rule – 6 run limit per inning for first 3 innings; unlimited after that. All games will be played with 15 run mercy rule after 3 innings and 10 run mercy rule after 4 innings.
12. International tie-breaker rule – Last batter out from previous inning will be placed on 2nd base with 1 out.
13. If weather or other problems occur, the Tournament Director may elect to shorten the maximum length of games. ALL TEAMS MUST BE PREPARED TO PLAY 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO SCHEDULED START TIME.
14. Courtesy runner can be used for catcher or pitcher. Courtesy runner will be the last batter out from the current inning or if no outs from the previous inning.
15. Fake tagging is prohibited.
16. Umpires have complete control of the game. Tournament Director will settle protests immediately.
17. Any player or coach ejected from the game will also be suspended for his/her team’s next game. All players, coaches and parents shall always display sportsmanship. Players shall not argue with umpires. Foul language and abuse of umpires will not be tolerated. Any persons not adhering to this policy (coach, player, fan) will be asked to leave the park and if behavior persists the offending team will forfeit the game.
18. No infield practice or live hitting practice will be allowed.
19. Home team determined by flip of a coin. Home team is responsible for official scorebook.
20. All game balls supplied by the tournament.
21. Must have roster submitted to tournament site director before 1st game and players must always have their birth certificates available throughout the tournament.
