Embarrass River Rugby Club is entering its third season this spring. We anticipate having 5 programs: Junior High Boys & Girls, High School Boys & Girls, and a non-contact youth flag rugby for kids in grades 3-8. We also have two USA Rugby certified coaches dedicated to promoting sportsmanship, character development, leadership, and physical fitness.

Rugby is one of the fastest growing team sports in America, and while a full contact sport, it has been recently documented by a Harvard University study to be safer than both football and ice hockey.  It is a fast-paced game (think of it as a cross between soccer and football), that can be played in either contact or non-contact settings for men, women, boys, and girls.  For many players, rugby doesn’t end after High School - with college, adult, and military service teams. Players that excel have opportunities to earn college scholarships.

Embarrass River Rugby is a club sport which means it operates independently of school funding. In an effort to keep the player's contributions to a minimum, the team needs to develop revenue from other sources. We do this by soliciting contributions, donations, and sponsorship.

The first two categories, donations, and contributions, will eventually be tax deductible and very welcome.

The third category, sponsorship, provides a method to publicize local businesses and have them recognized as community participants, eager to support our youth athletes. All Embarrass River Rugby Sponsors will have their logo/name listed on our team banner to be displayed at all games, in a prominent position on our team website, and recognized at our end of year awards banquet.
