Tongie FC started in 2018 with 1 team. We look to grow and add more teams but we want to make sure the time is right for us to grow. in 2019 we expanded to 2 teams and found success with both teams. Our coaches work hard to stay educated about the game and different coaching styles all the while working to build your child up as a person. Our coaches work to be positive role models for your children on the field and in the community. We are a family oriented club and understand that family comes first and we encourage our players to play other sports as well. There is a dedication aspect of playing for Tongie FC though, all our players are expected to practice a few minutes at home every day. We want our players to hone in on their foot skills and work to be better with their touch on the ball.
Practices are twice a week during the Fall and Spring. During the winter time we move indoors and will practice normally 1 time a week and take time off for the holidays. Also teams will play in 2 club tournaments through the year. There a lot of local tournaments through the year that the coach will discuss with you and pick what they think is best for team. We have 8 games a season as well so the team will play 24 league games through the year plus the guaranteed 3 games per tournament for a total of 30 games a year. We work to get your player playing time as well. We do not believe you pay to have your child sit on the bench and the best way to grow as a player is to gain experience on the field.
When it comes to cost we don't charge as much as the big clubs in the metro or in Lawrence. We work to stay competitive in pricing while being able to pay qualified coaches. Prices vary from team to team depending on their age group.
We have the option for payment plans as well through the year to help you balance out the cost. We also work to keep the same uniform designs each year so you don't have to be paying for new uniforms each season. We are all about Tonganoxie and want to give every child a chance to play with our program. The players will make lifetime friendships with each other and also be prepared for the high school game.
The high school coaching staff has set out to create the top program in the state of Kansas and they understand that it takes time. This was one of their first steps in doing that knowing very well that it takes time and an investment in the community. We want to make Tonganoxie a Soccer town through the youth levels all the way through high school. All the players get a chance to be ball boys/girls at high school soccer games and spend times practicing with the high school players as well.
