The first annual Goals Against Cancer Cops versus Coaches charity event took place Saturday evening October 6.  Hosted by the Maryland Soccerplex, the event drew hundreds of fans who packed the Maureen Hendricks stadium.  Fans cheered loudly for their club coaches and the local Montgomery County Police Officers. The cops and coaches played a full 90-minute match under the lights.

Coaches Nenad Vilotijevic and Dejan Lunova from Girondins USA participated in the charity event. Players from Vilotijevic’s U15 and U16 squads as well as Lunova’s younger U13 and U14s teams cheered loudly from the bleachers.

“It was fun watching my coaches play the game they love so much. Seeing all the talented coaches on the field at the same time was amazing. The cops tried hard but couldn’t beat the coaches.” stated Girondins USA U16 player Natalie Price.

The Maryland Socceplex sponsored a fun-filled evening and donated 100% of all proceeds to a local Germantown breast cancer charity.
