Diamond Elite Cheer

Q & A

What is competitive cheerleading?

Competitive cheerleading is a regulated sport comprised of different levels (1-4) of cheer teams based on age and ability which compete against each other. There are many requirements for each level. Teams perform a 2:30 routine comprised of cheer, tumbling, jumps, stunts, pyramids, and dance.

How many competitions do you attend?
Our program attends multiple competitions on the weekend during the season.

How far do you travel to competitions?
All of our competitions take place in Florida. We make every effort to keep our competitions within a 1-4 hour travel time from our meeting location and go to as many 1 day competitions as we can so we can also cut down the cost of travel. There can be a competition that is over 4 hours and can be an overnight stay. Parents pays their own accommodations, food, travel expenses,  and entrance fee for competitions.

Does being a competitive cheerleader mean that I have to spend a lot of money?
No, not at all. Our competitive cheer program has one registration fee that goes towards competition uniform, insurance, competition music, custom competition bow, competition shoes, traveler uniform (tank and shorts), backpack, field and lights. We fund raise for everything else for the cheer season (competition fees, accommodations, food, and more).

Cheerleading has a reputation of being dangerous. Will my child be safe?
With our organization, safety is our primary concern when instructing all of our athletes. We make sure that our athletes are taught through a progression process. We condition for a full week before we move onto any kind of stunting. They spend hours at each level mastering skills in their proper progression before they are ever allowed to attempt a more difficult or elite skill. We perfect before we progress. We do our best to make our program as safe as possible.

When are practices?
Practices are Mondays-Friday until January 13th. Starting January 21st, practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays. The team practices 2 hours a night (5:50pm - 8:15pm).
