DivisionDescription
Minor B
(6-8 yo)
Teaches the basic fundamentals of softball including hitting, fielding, throwing and base running. The primary goal of teaching the fundamentals of the game help to introduce the children to the excitement of the game and experience the value of teamwork. Sportsmanship and fair play are stressed to both players and coaches. Players are assigned to teams in a random order. Consideration is given to siblings. Division will include coach pitching. Player pitching is limited on the number of pitches depending on age group. Coach pitch will included five balls thrown to the batter. No tees are used. Defensive play includes 4 infielders, pitcher, catcher and 3-5 outfielders. The goal is teach the intricacies of each position. The batting order is a continuous lineup and a maximum runs of 5 per inning is enforced. No score or team statistics are kept. There are no league standings or playoffs. Games are limited to 5 innings or 2 hours, which ever come first.

*Girls who are league age 6 may register for Minor Softball if they have played a year of Tee Ball/Sluggers.
*Girls who are league age 8 are encouraged to try out for Minor A, unless this is their first time playing.
Minor A
(8-10 yo)
Similar to Minor B, the Minor A division continues to teach the basic fundamentals of softball including hitting, fielding, throwing and base running. Teams are filled by a draft method following a try-out and if a player is not drafted by a Minor A team, they will be placed at random on a Minor B team. Players that are 9 and 10 years old areeligible to be voted onto the Minor A All-Star team.

*Girls who are league age 10 are encouraged to try out for Major's, unless this is their first time playing.
Major
(9-12 yo)
This is our premier softball division where girls are introduced to competition. Managers and coaches are reinforcing the emphasis of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play with the goal of winning games. Standings are kept in this division and all teams will participate in a post-season playoff, culminating in a division champion. Teams are filled by a draft method following a try-out and if a player is not drafted by a Major's team, they will be placed on a Minor A team. There is also a District 2 All Star team that players are eligible to be voted onto at the end of the season, which could lead to state, regional, and national tournaments.
Junior,
Senior
(13-16 yo)
The Junior and Senior Softball Divisions are managed by the Delaware District 02 Inter-League Rules.
