2024 Fall Cheerleading!
Welcome to Evans Knights Pop Warner! We are looking forward to a great 2024 season!!
Hopefully you are registering early to take advantage of our early bird discount and payment plan!
Before continuing, please make sure your child is ELIGIBLE TO PLAY with Evans
by confirming your home address is zoned for Evans High School.
This can be done using the "Find my bus route" on the Columbia County Board of Education Website.
Keep an eye out for emails on upcoming parent meetings and the team meet-n-greet.
After registration, you will be added to your cheerleader's team's GroupMe group.
Please download the GroupMe app and make sure the phone number associated with that account is the phone number on the registration. All Team Communications will be sent through GroupMe all season long!
Your registration fee for the 2024 Season will be $200, with an option for $25 Early Registration Discount.
Early Registration ends on June 15, 2024.
Registration begins April 5, 2024.
Competition Uniforms this year will be about $130 (this is an estimate). These will be worn for our local comp and for those advancing to regionals. We will have a fundraising option solely for the uniform. If you wish to not participate in the fundraiser your are also able to pay up front for the uniform. There will be a mandatory cheer parent meeting to talk about regionals the first week of conditioning.
Uniforms this year will be ordered no later than July 15th.
This will ensure we have uniforms for cheer prior to our first football game!
This also gives us time to consider options for ordering competition uniforms for teams eligible to advance to Regionals!
Our Mitey Mite Teams and older are eligible to compete for a bid to compete at the Pop Warner Regional Competition in Orlando, FL. If your team places 1st or 2nd at Local Competition, competing at Regionals is a mandatory Pop Warner requirement. Knowing this ahead of time gives us the ability to plan accordingly and get funds together. Please keep this in mind, as it is a cost to not only the association but also to the parents. There will be a meeting to discuss this and answer all of your question during the first week of Cheer Conditioning, in August.
With fundraising in mind we, as a board, have voted on an incentive to help motivate our participants and parents. If you get one $500 dollar or above sponsorship, one of your children get a free registration. One registration per $500 and above donation only.
Paperwork:
All the required paperwork must be turned in PRIOR to the first day of practice.
Your child WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START PRACTICE until all paperwork has been received.
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- 2024 Pop Warner Player Contract
- 2024 Pop Warner Physical Form
- Full 4 quarter, end of year Report Card (2023-2024 school year) **or Kindergarten Waiver for participants not yet old enough to receive report cards. These are available from your Head Coach or ACDC**
Please make note of your login information you used to start registration, so you can log back in later to upload copies/photos of the required paperwork.
Parent Meeting:
We will be holding at least 2 meetings prior to the season starting.
It will be mandatory that you attend one of these meetings.
The dates will be posted in advance giving everyone ample notice to make plans to attend. During these meetings we will introduce the new Board Members and talk about the changes this year. We will also collect paperwork and conduct registrations at these meetings.
Cheer Rules:
All of the following are National pop warner rules. Please read the following. This is to start the week of conditioning and continue through regular season practice and game days.
1. No jewelry of any kind
2. No beads
3. No unnatural hair color
4. No nail Polish or acrylics
5. Nails must be kept trimmed back
6. No make up or glitter
7. No Bobby pins
8. Hair in high pony with cheer bow Cheer Conditioning:
Pop Warner requires ALL cheerleaders to complete 20 hours of Physical Conditioning prior to starting any regular season instruction. Conditioning consists of cardio, proper stretching, aerobics, strength training & proper movement. Conditioning prepares our cheerleaders for the physical demand of being active, especially in the hotter weather.
Cheer Conditioning for the 2024 Season will be Mon-Fri 6-8pm beginning in August. Exact dates will be given prior to the beginning of the season.
All days are mandatory. Any missing conditioning hours must be made up on Saturday mornings, TBD.
Regular Season Practices:
Starting Monday, August 15th
Mon, Tue & Thu 6p-8p
(Tiny Mites typically end at 7:30pm)
Game Days:
Cheerleaders will cheer at EPW Football games held on Saturdays beginning in late August.
Games are held at various Columbia County High Schools.
Schedules will be posted to GroupMe when there released by the League.
Local Competition:
Our Local Cheer Competition will be held at a local high or middle school on a Saturday in mid-October.
Info will be posted in GroupMe as it is made available.
Junior Tiny Mites
Registering ages 3 & 4
Jr Tony’s will practice once a week for 45 minutes to and hour. They will practice at Evan high school tennis courts. Practice will either be held on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.
Jr Tinys will be cheering during a portion of some of the football games during the season. Details to follow.
Jr Tinys will also participate in the Locals Competition at the end of the season, solely as an exhibition team. Just for fun!
