Yorktown Youth Football League

Are you interested in Coaching?

The Yorktown Youth Football League is looking for coaches that will commit to being good role models.  We strive to develop not only the player's football skills but also their life skills.  We need to show our young players how to be competitive, but also how to handle conflict and adversity in a healthy and productive manner.  Basic knowledge about football is helpful but not required.  One of our top priorities is to help our players have a positive experience and to want to continue playing football in the future.  Winning games is NOT the top priority! Feel free to complete the application if you are willing to be part of a team and follow our league rules and philosophy.  Submit the application below to [email protected].  Our board will review the application and respond with the next steps.  Thank you for investing in our community and youth development.

Background Checks

Yorktown Youth Football League tries to do everything in our power to protect our youth athletes. Coaches must have a background check before they will be allowed to coach. The league will pay the fees associated with the background checks. During the selection process, information will be given to those selected to be coaches on how to fill out the information for the background check. Background checks will be done electronically and reported directly to the league. If you do not receive a green light, you will be notified and not allowed to coach.

Background checks are required yearly and will include Federal, all 50 states and sex offenders information. We do realize that people make mistakes. Any coach that wishes to appeal the decision based off of information in a background check is welcome to submit a one page explanation to the league directors for consideration.
