MORE INFORMATION BELOW ABOUT OUR CHEER PROGRAM.
In the Pop Warner league, cheerleading is equally as important as the football program. The Warminster Pioneer executive board has elected a Vice President of cheerleading to watch over the entire program. The board also elects an AD of Cheer to help assist the VP run and watch over the program. The elected representative will attend monthly cheerleading meetings held by BuxMont Pop Warner. Here, cheerleaders are considered athletes. They will train like athletes, grow like athletes and compete like athletes.
Pop Warner has a very strict view on safety within the program. As a result, all of the selected coaches will be required to take a cheerleading certification program that is good for 2 years. With additional recertification's each year. All certifications and clearances are required. This will ensure that our cheerleaders are safe at all times. Squads are split up by specific age brackets that are set by Pop Warner to ensure that the cheerleaders are cheering and stunting with kids in the same age range, the same size, and the same skill level. We are offering Cheerleading for ages 3 to 13. The squads will be based off the Pop Warner's team structure, if you child's age fall across teams it does not matter which one is chosen for registration. Squad will be make up once registration closes.

Pop Warner supports sideline and competitive cheer. Pop Warner's Competitions consist of 3 levels, Bux Mont Classic, Regionals and Nationals. The Warminster Pioneers Cheer program is a sideline focus cheer with introduction to competition by having our teams participate in the Bux Mont Classic. At the Classic, our girls will showcase a routine at the exhibition level so they will not be judged nor are they eligible to advance to any of the other competitions. The Bux Mont Classic is no additional fee to the families and is included in our registration. We do reverse the right to evaluate each season and each team if there is interest in competing with the option to advance to Regionals. As we know this is not for everyone and there could be additional costs. If this is to take place, it will occur in August once the team have been working together. We want the cheer experience to be filled with learning and fun.
The Pop Warner official sideline season will run from August until October. Teams may practice up to 3 days a week between 1 and 2 hours a day. Competitions will run from October through to February and teams may continue to practice up to 3 days a week between 1 and 2 hours a day. Warminster Pioneer Season starts on August 1st. The month of August is dedicated to practices, which is commonly referred to as Camp. Our cheerleaders will practice from Monday to Thursday from 6pm-8pm during camp. Occasionally, a Friday practice may be needed for various reasons. Once Centennial School starts we drop down to Tues & Thursday practices only from 6-8pm and this will run until the last week of October. Our 3 & 4 year old cheerleaders would have a modified schedule to the above but will be within the same dates and time frames. Practices would generally not be past 7pm for that age group. Games run from late August through to the last weekend of Oct and are on Friday night, Saturday or Sundays. It is extremely important your child is committed to the entire season, not only for their benefit but the team they are a part of.
In the event a team were to opt to compete beyond Bux Mont Classic and if that team then qualifies for Regionals, practice would continue until the date of Regional Competition. A practice schedule would be determined at that time.
This organization is run by volunteers. We are always looking for Team Parents, Coaches, Assistant Coach or Jr/Demo Coaches. If this interests you or you know someone who may be interested, please contact Colleen Shirk. She'd love to talk with anyone curious or interested.
For questions or comments, please contact Colleen Shirk, our Vice President of Cheer.
GO PIONEERS! Hope to see you in August.
