Cheer Programs

In our move to the BuxMont Pop Warner League we are revamping our cheerleading program to take advantage of the many benefits Pop Warner offers.  In the Pop Warner league, cheerleading is taken very seriously and is seen as equally important as the football program.  So important, that the Warminster Pioneer executive board has elected a Vice President of cheerleading to watch over the entire program.  Our organization will also send an elected representative to monthly cheerleading meetings held by BuxMont Pop Warner.  Here, cheerleaders are considered athletes.  They will train like athletes, grow like athletes and complete like athletes.

Pop Warner has a very strict view on safety within the program.  As a result, all of the selected coaches will be required to take a cheerleading certification program that is good for 2 years.  This will ensure that our cheerleaders are safe at all times.  Squads are split up by specific age brackets that are set by Pop Warner to ensure that the cheerleaders are cheering and stunting with kids in the same age range, the same size, and the same skill level.

Another very exciting benefit of moving to Pop Warner is that they have their very own cheerleading competitions.  Our teams will get the chance to compete in the Buxmont Classic for a chance to compete at their national competition in Florida.

Summer camp will start on August 1st and the cheerleaders will practice from Monday to Thursday between 1 and 2 hours a day.  The official sideline season will run from September until October.  Teams may practice up to 3 days a week between 1 and 2 hours a day.  Competitions will run from October through to February and teams may continue to practice up to 3 days a week between 1 and 2 hours a day.

As a result of these changes we are offering the following programs to our Warminster Pioneer Families:

Tiny Mites Sideline and Competition Cheerleading - This program, formerly known as Flag Cheer,  is for cheerleaders between the ages of 5 and 7.  In this program, the children will learn the basics of cheer including how to perform a cheer, basic stunting, and basic tumbling.  Each team will create and rehearse a half time routine and a set of Warminster Pioneer cheers. Teams will cheer at all home games and select away games. Since this is an intro program, the girls will not be officially competing,  they can enter as exhibition into the Buxmont Classic.  This program is dedicated to learning and will continue to grow and build on their skills throughout the season.

Sideline & Competition Cheerleading - This program is for cheerleaders between the ages of 7 and 15.  In this program, the children will learn the more advanced aspects of cheerleading.  They will learn cheers, but work on more advanced stunting and tumbling. Each team will create a half time routine that will build out to eventually become their competition routine.  These teams will also cheer at all home games and select away games, but the games are used to test out new aspects of their routine prior to the competitions.  Each team will be entered into the Buxmont Classic and has the opportunity to go all the way to the national competition in Florida.
