2020 SEASON PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
COVID-19
I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT EVEN WITH THE PRECAUTIONS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING SET FORTH THAT IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE ALL RISK. BY REGISTERING MY CHILD, I ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THAT RISK AND HOLD NMHLL HARMLESS
NMHLL will be following Stay at Home 2.0 and following the CDC guidelines: https://www.covidguidance.nh.gov/sites/g/files/ehbemt381/files/inline-documents/2020-05/guidance-amateur-youth-sports.pdf
Parents must screen child prior to leaving for baseball activities for any symptoms of COVID-19 (see Universal Guidelines for list of potential symptoms). If any of these apply, player and family cannot attend baseball activities.
- Fever of 100.4 degrees F or higher.
- Has had any close contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed to have had COVID-19 in the past 14 days. (NOTE: Healthcare workers caring for COVID-19 patients while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment should answer “no” to this question)
- Traveled in the past 14 days either:
- Internationally (outside the U.S.),
- By cruise ship, or
- Domestically (within the U.S.) outside of NH, VT, or ME on public transportation (e.g., bus, train, plane, etc.).
- Person(s) with any COVID-19 symptoms, those who report that in the past 14 days they have had close contact with someone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19, or report travel risk factors should not be allowed into the sporting event, competition, game, and/or practice, and:
- Symptomatic persons should be instructed to contact their healthcare providers to be tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate at home following the instructions below.
- Asymptomatic persons reporting that in the past 14 days they have had close contact with someone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19, or who report one of the traveled-related risk factors should self-quarantine for 14 days from their last exposure or return from travel.
- NOTE: Healthcare workers caring for COVID-19 patients while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment should answer “no” to this question
- Person(s) with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 must stay home until symptom based criteria are met for discontinuation of isolation which are:
- At least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, AND
- At least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (“Recovery” is defined as resolution of fever off any fever reducing medications plus improvement in other symptoms).
In addition to the above requirements:
- All spectators must adhere to the CDC guidelines of social distancing
- Parents/guardians are going to be encouraged to limit the number of people brought to the field during practice time
- Bathrooms will be available with the following guidelines
- Coach or Team parent will hold key (who ever does will be assigned person)
- Will be unlocked before every use and re-locked by assigned person after every use
- Will be sanitized by assigned person and person using it
- NO concessions will be opened
- NO food or gum chewing allowed
- Each player will supply their own
- hand sanitizer
- helmet
- glove
- water bottle
- bat
- batting gloves(if using them)
- camp chair (recommended so that the kid can put their equipment next to it)
- Mask (for non baseball activities when unable to social distance)
Players need to abide by the following:
- If I need to cough or sneeze I will face into my elbow or use a tissue; if I use a tissue I will throw it in the trash right away.
- I will not touch, use, or ask to use another player’s equipment.
- I will wear a face covering when asked.
- I will use the hand sanitizer in between innings and whenever the coach tells me.
- I will stay in my assigned space and keep my equipment in this space whenever at the ball field.
- I will stay 6’ away from teammates and coaches as possible.
- No handshakes, high/low fives, fist/elbow bumps or other touches are permitted. I will cheer for my teammates and the opposing team using baseball cap “tips”, thumbs up, and clapping.
I will follow all the rules of my coach and parents to stay safe. I know that if I fail to follow the guidelines I may be removed from the team and will not be able to play baseball this year.
