NLL SAFETY MANUAL FOR 2021:
2021 Neartown Safety Manual

COVID - 19 SAFETY GUIDELINES: Spring 2021


All individual
 s should measure their body temperature to ensure that no fever is present prior to participating in activities. Anyone with symptoms of fever, cough, or worsening respiratory symptoms, or any known exposure to a person with COVID-19 should stay home.

Social distancing of 6 feet to be practiced by all coaches, players and spectators during practice and games.

Spectators at practice and/or games, are required to wear a face covering.

Players will be permitted (not required) to wear a cloth face covering on the field during game play, if physically able to do so.

Face coverings will be required by players and coaches when in the dugout.

All coaches, players and spectators should bring their own hand sanitizer.

All individuals should bring their own personal drinks/snacks to all team activities. Drinks should be labeled with the person’s name.

Players should use and maintain their own equipment (bat/glove/batting helmets).

If catchers gear is shared it must be cleaned/sanitized in between each use.

All participants/families must commit to following the Neartown Little League Positive COVID-19 Action Plan. 

DAILY HEALTH SELF ASSESSMENT REQUIRED:

•        No player should attend practice or games if not feeling well or displaying COVID-19 symptoms.

•       All parents/guardians shall self assess their respective player(s) prior to bringing them to the field.

•       If a player becomes sick or exposed to someone who is sick, NLL Coach and Safety Officer shall be notified in order to reduce further exposures.  

•       If a player tests positive for Covid 19, the player will be required to quarantine and
not be allowed to rejoin their team until a negative test is given to NLL officials.

ASKS / FACE COVERINGS REQUIRED:

Masks/face coverings are REQUIRED.

•     Players are not required to wear a mask/face covering while practicing or competing in games.

•     Players will be required to wear a mask/face covering when sitting on the bench during practice or games.

•     All adults, including coaches, umpires and volunteers shall wear masks/face coverings while on the fields.

SOICIAL DISTANCING - SPECTATORS:

•        To minimize the number of people on or around the fields, parents/guardians should remain in their vehicle duringpractice or practice safe social distancing (6 ft away from others) on the bleachers and around the field.

•        Any spectator who is considered ‘at-risk’ to COVID-19, should not attend any NLL practice or games.

HAND SANITIZATION:

•        Upon entering and exiting the field, players and coaches shall sanitize their hands.

EQUIPMENT / WATER BOTTLES / PERSONAL GEAR:

 

•        Water bottles should not be shared with other players. Names should be clearly marked.

•      Balls – All balls will be provided by NLL. Teams should not share baseballs each team will have their own baseballs as provided by NLL or the head coach.  

•      Bats/Gloves/Helmets/batting gloves should not be shared between players.

•      Catchers gear is never to be shared, each player who wishes to play the catcher position must purchase their own gear or take the team assigned catchers’ gear. Only one catchers gear set will be provided to each team designated by the head coach.  If additional catchers gear is requested, contact Michael DeGeurin [email protected] subject line: Catchers Gear.

GREETINGS/HIGH-FIVES/HANDSHAKES/CELEBRATIONS:

 

•        Extra contact should be avoided. Avoid handshakes, high-fives, hugs, etc.

•      In lieu of traditional greetings or celebrations, clapping, ‘air’ high-fives and other respectful, non-contact gestures are acceptable.


AFTER-GAME SNACKS:

        •     There will be no after practice or game snacks

NLL REFUND POLICY AND SCHEDULE: 

NLL will follow local and state regulations for youth sports and will monitor local and state decisions for schools and school sports. If NLL determines that the spring season must be canceled due to Covid and the HPARD closes the field and revokes the field permit, refunds will be offered according to the Refund Schedule below.


This policy only applies in the event NLL cancels the Spring 2021 season due to COVID-19.

·         100% Refund - Season is canceled prior to the first practice

·           80% Refund - Season is canceled after the first practice but prior to the first game

·           50% Refund - Season is canceled before four games are played
·             0% Refund - Season is canceled and four games have been played
