Urbana Little League is committed to doing the utmost to protect the safety, health, and well-being of our players, coaches, volunteers, parents, and fans. While there are no current mandates from Little League, we will closely monitor and follow all policies outlined by the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District and the Illinois Department of Public Health when the season begins.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Requiring all or unvaccinated managers, coaches, and volunteers to wear cloth face coverings and any other necessary PPE whenever applicable and possible;
  • Requiring all or unvaccinated players to wear cloth face coverings whenever in close contact areas, such as dugouts, and recommending/allowing their use at all times on the field;
  • Setting up distanced locations for players in and around the dugout to allow the recommended 6-foot distance between individuals;
  • Requiring player equipment to be kept outside the dugout, and requiring all players to have or have provided their own helmets, gloves, bats, and catcher's equipment;
  • Thoroughly following cleaning guidelines whenever equipment must be shared between individuals (such as umpire gear or in other extenuating circumstances)
  • Providing no shared beverages or refreshments to the team; or
  • Prohibiting physical contact and celebrations
We require all parents to ensure their children are following the established guidelines or they may be prohibited from participating. Spectators guidance will also be provided once we understand any new rules heading into 2022.

We realize it may be stressful to ensure that we are following the guidelines and policies as best as possible. All of these policies exist in order to minimize the risk to each other as well as our families, friends, and community.
