“Water safe” and “water safety” encompasses responsible behavior in and around the pool and other bodies of water in order to ensure safety for all. To be water safe, athletes, especially in younger age groups, must know the basics of how to operate in the water and feel comfortable performing tasks set for their skill-set
Swim trunks/suits are required. Speedos or jammers are encouraged and required for participation in tournaments. Athletes with long hair must wear a swim cap. Swim goggles may be used for drills and conditioning. Ohana branded gear will be available for purchase at a later date.
Drivers must have a valid driver’s license to drive on the base. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all entrants to the base must wear a mask and have their temperature checked.
Athletes should plan to arrive NO earlier than 5 minutes before practice begins. Athletes that drive themselves to practice will remain in their vehicle until he or she sees their assigned coach outside the front gate. Parents will remain with their athletes in their vehicles in a parking space until the athlete is able to queue at the front entrance gate with their assigned coach. NOTE: Parents please DO NOT stop along Valley Forge Avenue to drop off your athlete(s) directly in front of the pool. For the safety of club members, please park within the parking lot to drop-off and pick-up your athlete(s).
Parents of younger athletes (i.e., 12U and younger) may escort them to their spot in their age group queue then return to their vehicle.
All athletes should arrive with face masks on and ready to get in the pool immediately upon entry (wear suits under street clothing). There will be NO DECK CHANGING and NO LOCKER ROOMS available.
Athletes must adhere to social distancing guidelines to ensure there is approximately 6’ (or 2 arms distances) between themselves and the next person unless they are related.
Athletes will be dismissed individually by lane. They should immediately gather their goggles, water bottle and other belongings in the bleachers then put their towel and face mask on and exit the pool deck immediately.
FYI: the designated exit gate is to the left of the main gate in the front of the facility, so parents should meet their athletes preferably in their vehicle in a designated parking space. Parents may opt to meet their younger athletes at the exit gate at the designated end time (no more than 5 minutes before and parents MUST adhere to at least 6’ apart from other parents and wear face masks).NOTE: Any personal belongings left behind will likely be tossed at the end of each night, so be sure to gather ALL belongings before leaving the pool deck.
