Boundaries

League boundary rules have several exceptions and determining your players correct league based on school district is a first step approach. Generally, players register with the league who's boundary lines include the school district the player lives in and/or which school they attend.

Exceptions to play at a different league include being grandfathered in at that league, player has a release form, parent teaches at a school, etc.

If you are hearing chatter about boundaries, please do not panic! There are a couple of reasons for the talk.....

The addition of Town Creek Middle School is a great opportunity for our league but does not mean that people who have been playing at Southport or Leland now have to switch to TCDY because they attend TCMS (they are grandfathered in and a member of the league they have been playing with).

The population of Brunswick County has grown significantly over the past 20 years. This has allowed local softball leagues to grow far larger than when the high school rule boundary was put in place. Amanda Brown (league president) and our softball commissioner, Jamie Brown, have requested that boundaries change to a new middle school rule. The District Director, Reggie, has agreed to discuss and vote on the topic during the district meeting on Jan 15, 2022.

Most local leagues do not have their softball and baseball programs incorporated together but Town Creek does. This may cause confusion to many since the boundary rules for each are different (softball = HS rule & baseball = Elem/Middle school rule).
