Divisions

Little League Baseball has 6 different Divisions based on the player's age and skill level.

Tee Ball (Boys & Girls)

The T-Ball Division is for boys and girls league age 4-7 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. The experience is grounded in fun, fitness, and fundamentals while also being a key to growing a child’s love for the game. The primary goals of the T-Ball Division are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. This division does not keep score & all players will bat. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.

Rookies (Boys & Girls)

The Rookies Division is for league age 6-8 as they continue to develop their skills. In this division, players receive pitch balls from the coach for majority of the game. As the children progress, coaches may introduce other players pitching during the game, which will help build up the experience of facing other players pitching. This division follows the fundamental rules of the Minor League Baseball Division (including 3 strikes & 4 balls, 3 outs.) The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.

Minors

The Minors Division is for league age 8-11 with a league option to allow qualifying league age 8 years old. At this division, all pitching will be from the players to the batters. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

Majors

Little League Baseball Division (also known as the Major Division) is for league age 11-12 and is the division that is most closely associated with the Little League World Series.  In the Majors Division, there is a league option to allow qualifying league age 10-year old. At this division, players continue to develop their skills as they prepare for postseason tournaments. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.   This division does introduce more of the rules of the higher levels of baseball in terms of substitution rules with fielding and only the nine players in the active lineup bat.

Junior Baseball

The Junior Baseball Division is for league age 13-14. This division uses a conventional sized baseball field and follows traditional baseball rules. The diamond used is a 90-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 60 foot, 6 inches.   This division is a great introduction to the rules the players will play if they are part of a high school team.

Senior Baseball

The Senior Baseball Division is for league age 15-16 and builds on the Junior and Intermediate Division offerings. This division uses a conventional sized baseball field and follows traditional baseball rules. The diamond used is a 90-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 60 foot, 6 inches
