Clippers History

The Bayonne Clippers travel baseball team is the official travel baseball organization of the Bayonne Little League.  The Clippers were founded in 2021 by Coaches Matthew Gill and Matthew Cuttruff with the support of Bayonne Little League President Roger Malone and the Bayonne Little League Board of Directors. The mission of the Clippers is to provide a travel baseball experience to the players of our league based out of their home field and facilities.  Often, travel programs are expensive and parents travel out of town for practices.  With the Clippers, our team is based at home for a reasonable price point thanks to the support from BCB Bank, and parent associated fundraising.

In 2021, there was only one Clippers team, the 10U Clippers age group.  In 2 short years, the program has grown to field teams at  8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U, and 15U levels, playing in USABL, USSSA, District Tournaments, and Leagues.  The Clippers have participated in tournaments in Myrtle Beach, SC; Rehoboth Beach DE; Aberdeen MD; and countless other local tournaments from PA to the Jersey Shore.

The Clippers have been featured nationally on Lids Custom website and have been seen on the warning track at Yankee Stadium before a September 2022 game vs the Pittsburgh Pirates in the heart of Aaron Judge’s chase for 62!
