Nebraska City Youth Soccer Club

Youth soccer is for the players. Parents and guardians associated with the Nebraska City  Youth Soccer Club (NCYSC) are invited to share in the pleasure of watching their children participate as long as their behavior does not distract the players and officials from the free flow of play. NCYSC prides ourselves on having respectful and engaged families and we ask that parents and guardians continue to adhere to these guidelines.

Parents Code of Conduct Agreement

I/we will set a good example to my/our child in his/her soccer development by adhering at all times to the following:

  • We shall do our best to prepare our child for every practice and game.
  • We will foster an environment of respect for referees, players, coaches, and spectators of the opposing team through words of encouragement and support.
  • We will applaud superior play, effort, and sportsmanship by players on both teams.
  • We recognize that playing well and fairly is the essence of the game; it’s not just about winning.
  • We agree to do our best to have as much fun watching the game as the players should have playing the game.
  • We will always remain at least two yards from the playing field so our young players have room to play and enjoy the game.
  • We shall leave the coaching to the coach during games. We shall do our best to refrain from instructing our child during games.
  • We will support the coaches regardless of the results on the field. Coaches contribute many hours of their time to our youth players. They deserve your congratulations when the team wins and your encouragement when the team doesn’t.
  • We will communicate any concerns to the coach at the appropriate time (recommended 24 hour cool off period) away from the playing location and players.
  • We recognize many of the referees are young and are learning how to officiate the game. We will always support their learning efforts as we do our youth players.
  • We will cooperate with any request by the game officials.
  • We will never use foul language or obscene gestures at a game or practice site.
  • We will avoid comments and gestures that express disagreement with referee decisions.
  • We will never consume alcoholic beverages or use tobacco products at a game or practice site.
  • We understand that we are responsible for our guests’ behavior and must inform them of the applicable rules of conduct.
  • We understand that failure to adhere to these standards will result in being asked to leave the playing area by the referee or NCYSC board member. Play will be suspended until he or she does so.
  • We agree to not criticize or make any negative comment on or through social media regarding an opposing team, player, referee, staff member or soccer community related issue. We understand there are direct methods and channels (phone, text, email, in-person) for feedback and communication to NCYSC and will use these channels to communicate.
  • We understand that Nebraska City Youth Soccer Club reserves the right to suspend and/or terminate a player's enrollment for any breaches in his/her parent's Code of Conduct, and there will be no refunds of player fees in such cases. Zero tolerance will be given for persistent or extreme misbehavior.
