Reminders for Coaches & Parents:

Basketball is a sport and is meant to be a fun activity; players do not need extra pressure to perform, especially in our Recreational Program within the town; as Michael Jordan said: "...I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." We want to foster a program where it is okay to fail and be picked up by your teammates, coaches, parents & fans
Our Coaches are volunteers and are not paid to manage and coach the teams, they are giving up their personal time to teach our players the game of basketball and hopefully, along the way, valuable life lessons as our players mature into young men - Please support them. Be a fan & let the volunteers do their job on the court. We THANK YOU for trusting us with your children!
Referees are paid, but not enough to be criticized and yelled at by parents, fans or coaches - they do their best to make the correct calls; the players are always watching and we should collectively set a good example of how to behave; if there are continual problems with referees, coaches should reach out to REBBL Board Members to discuss after the game & follow the correct procedures to escalate to League Commissioners
Communication is key! ...with your players, coaches, REBBL Board members - if you have questions, please reach out and ask, but it's important to start the conversation

Program Information:

Kindergarten - 1st Grade Instructional Program
Description: This program is designed to introduce the fundamentals of basketball while incorporating fun games and activities for your young players. The program usually kicks off in January and runs through the beginning of March. It is hosted on Saturday mornings (9:15am for Kindergarten & 10:30am for 1st Grade)

2nd Grade Semi-Instructional Program
Description: This program is similarly designed to expand upon the fundamentals of basketball that were learned in Kindergarten & 1st Grade while incorporating fun games and activities for your young players. Half way through the season, games are introduced to the program to prepare them for more action in 3rd Grade. The program usually kicks off in January and runs through the beginning of March. It is hosted on Saturday mornings (9:15am for Kindergarten & 10:30am for 1st Grade)

3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th/8th Grade Recreational Programs
Description: These programs become more advanced as the players' skills continue to develop. The focus is still on having fun and playing with & against their friends from town. Competition does intensify into the Playoffs, but the focus should remain on developing team play and working together. There are playing time rules to ensure fair play and we will be using a "blind draft" process for all Rec teams to ensure a fair division of skill across all teams.
