8U softball is for players 6 to 8 years old. For any girls in the Onsted School district or part of the Onsted School System. 

8U Softball plays two to three days per week, games being Tuesday and Thursday, practice days to be determined. Practices are typically about an hour and a half long.  8U Softball is coach pitch and focuses on the fundamentals of the game play, coaches are teaching all aspects of the game and participants will be learning all positions on the field, both infield and outfield. 

Participants are required to have a glove, fielders mask and cleats. No metal cleats are allowed. 

Shared helmets, bats and catchers' equipment are provided. 

Players are welcome to bring their own bats, helmet and catchers' equipment to use, bats must be a softball bat which meets Little League specification and standards. Specification can be found in the Little League rule book linked on our webpage. Helmets must have protective face coverings. 

Placement is automatic and based off of your child's birthdate; if you feel the program your child has been placed in is incorrect or not right for your child evaluations may be requested. Please email [email protected]
