If you would like to coach for the 2026 Moosic Little League season every coach that will be on the field and interacting with the players will need to be cleared by the safety Officer. The overall safety and wellbeing of our players is the number one concern.
This is a guide on how to become cleared to become a coach.

If you haven't gone on to the sports connect website and registered, please do so to become a volunteer coach. If you are looking to become a head coach or assistant coach, you must go onto the website and register.
The sports connect website is also where you registered your child to play Moosic Little League.
Steps
Log into your sports connect account.
On the left side bar click volunteer.
Click +find volunteer role
Next page click head coach, assistant coach
Click continue
Fill out your contact information, additional information
Click on Little League volunteer application-view/accept
Click Little League child protect- view/accept
Little League privacy policy-view/accept
Click to upload government ID picture
There are three mandatory clearances and two mandatory trainings that need to be completed, you will see the spot where to upload them and there will be a description of what is needed. Links for each clearance and training are listed below
Tip: Before uploading certifications/trainings, when saving them onto your computer, re-name the file to what certification/training it is. Otherwise, when uploading the file, it may be a number, and you may upload the wrong certification/training to the wrong section. Also, once you upload make sure to hit the save button
1)PA State Police criminal background check- has to be dated within the last 5 years
2)PA Child Abuse check- has to be dated within the last 5 years
3) Please provide your email, an email will be sent by Moosic Little league for you to fill out the JDP background check. Once you have been sent the email, you will have 14 days to complete this.
Little League Trainings
1) Little League Abuse Awareness training- this has to be done every year, so the 2025 certificate will not work. The 2026 completed certificate is needed.
2) Diamond Leader Training- This training has to be done once. You will receive a certificate once completed; this needs to be uploaded to sports connect as well. If you have done one in the previous years, that is sufficient, you will just upload that certificate to sports connect under additional trainings.
There are additional spots for additional clearances and training that you can upload if you feel they are beneficial to have on file.
If your clearances are outdated and you need to update the files you can easily go onto the sports connect website and log in. Once logged in, you will see your name with your role under it. Next to your name will be a pencil, click the pencil, this is where you can edit your information, upload or add new clearances etc.
