Tony Knight
Tony got involved with Little League Baseball and Softball in 1997 and has been a manager, coach, volunteer, and umpire throughout his career. He enjoys umpiring both baseball and softball at all levels of play.
Tony has umpired numerous years umpiring at the District, Sectional, and State levels dating back to 2003. He has also umpired at the Junior Softball Regional tournament in Albuquerque, New Mexico and at the Senior Softball Regional tournament in Pineville, Louisiana. He hopes to be selected to umpire at a Softball World Series.
As the District 31 Director of Umpire Operations and Development, Tony and the team are focused on developing umpires for baseball and softball. Whether it’s field mechanics, regulations, or rules, developing umpires to personally succeed has tremendous benefits for Little League players.
The district staff umpires all share a common goal, common passion. To continually strive to be the best they can be and share their experience with other umpires. Our team is also extremely focused on fostering a junior umpire program. Middle school, high school students and former players are the future umpires, those who share the same passion for the game.
