Jeff Daugherty

Jeff was raised a “Military Brat”, spending the majority of my childhood in Texas. Upon graduating High School in Corpus Christi, Jeff enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After discharging from the Corps he returned to Texas, met his wife and they have been married for 40 years. They have one son and are expecting their first grandchild in early 2026.

Jeff has been a Texas Peace Officer for 35 years and is currently the Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Luling, Texas.

Jeff has been a Little League Umpire for more than 25 years. During most of that time he was happy calling local league and district games contemplating his desire to advance in post season tournaments. In about 2017, he decided he would like to progress and call at the Texas East Softball State Tournament. Since then, Jeff has been fortunate enough to call at the Texas East State Tournament since 2018.

At the Texas East State Tournaments. Jeff has been fortunate to connect and associate with some of the best umpires and best people in the umpire world. Drawing on their knowledge and encouragement, Jeff has been selected to call at three Southwest Regional Tournaments and the 2025 Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, WA.

Jeff believes that he has learned from every umpire he has had the good fortune to work with and now has a strong desire to pass that knowledge on so that others can have the opportunity to improve, progress and enjoy Little League as he has.
