CYS Softball 2026

This is our tryout date for tournament teams as well as our evaluations for our recreational teams to ensure balanced rec teams.

Date:

March 14 - 10U through 14U tournament tryouts 12:30pm - 5pm @ CHS Varsity Softball Field

10U - 12:30-1pm check-in, tryouts from 1-3pm

12U - 2:30 - 3pm check-in, tryouts from 3-5pm

14U - 2:30 - 3pm check-in, tryouts from 3-5pm

March 15 - 8U - 7/8 grade rec evaluations 12pm - 5:30pm @ CHS Football Field

1st - 4th grades - 12 - 1pm check-in, evals from 1 - 2:30pm

5th - 6th grades - 1:30 - 2:30 check-in, evals from 2:30 - 4pm

7th - 8th grades - 3 - 4pm check-in, evals from 4 - 5:30pm

We will be providing 3 cards per player to sell to help recoup some of the registration costs.

Tournament team info: This is our competitive tournament program for girls that want something a little more fast paced than rec.

12 players per team or less
All tournaments are on weekends (with very few exceptions)
Teams looking to play on average 6-8 tournaments a season with most tournaments being at least a 4 game minimum.
Practice schedules determined by the coach.
Girls are also generally expected to put in practice work on their own outside of team practices.
Tournaments cost per player is expected to be anywhere from 350-650 for the season.
Initial player deposits will be:
$200 for 10U / 12U / 14U
$250 for 16U
Which covers the tournament entry fees, uniforms, field maintenance, background checks, and insurance costs.
Tournament costs differ mainly based on the number of tournaments a team chooses to compete in.
Fundraising opportunities will be available to help cover up to the entire cost minus the initial deposit. Participation will be required in most cases to receive credit for fundraising.

Recreational team info: This is our rec teams that play with other teams within the valley league for 10U+ (which does include Newport, Lincoln City, and Siletz as of 2024)

Considered entry level, a great place for brand new players or girls who want to have a great time learning/playing the game of softball with a little less of the intensity of a tournament team.
No players are cut, we will try to attract enough coaches to have 12 players per team, numbers will fluctuate per team based on coach availability and number of players registered.
All games are on week days, one game per day, 12 game minimum for the season, as many as 15 games based on playoffs (if a team makes it).
Practice schedules determined by the coach.
Recreation cost per player is:
$200 for 7/8th grade, 3/4th, and 5/6th grade
$85 8U (1/2nd grade)
$85 Pre-K / K All Girl T-ball!!!! (New this 2026 season)
Which covers league team fees, umpires, uniforms, field maintenance, background checks, and insurance costs.
8U teams will most likely play only against other CYS 8U teams at our local fields.
T-ball will play against each other, possibly some Corvallis all girl t-ball teams, and CYS boys teams as a last resort if necessary.
