SEASON & SCHEDULE
Q: When does the season start and end?
A: The spring season typically begins in early April and runs through early June, with playoffs for certain divisions.
Q: When will we hear from our coach?
A: Coaches will contact families within one week after teams are finalized.
Q: How often do teams practice?
A: Most teams practice 1β2 times per week, depending on division and field availability.
Q: How many games are played each week?
A: Typically 1β2 games per week. Older divisions may have additional games.
Q: Are there games during Spring Break?
A: It depends on the schedule and weather. We try to avoid conflicts when possible, but makeup games may occur.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: Weather updates are posted on our Facebook page and your coach will send out a message to the team. Parks and Rec makes the final decision regarding field closures. They have until 4pm to notify us. Please do not message the league or coaches prior to 4pm regarding field closures. We will be in contact with everyone as soon as we know if a field is going to be closed for the evening.

Q: Is my player required to attend Opening Day festivities?
A: No, but they will miss out on team photos and team introductions!
Q: What should my player wear to Opening Day?
A: Full uniform unless otherwise instructed by your coach.
Q: Do families stay for Opening Day?
A: Yes! Opening Day is a community event and families are encouraged to attend.

Q: What does registration include?
A: Jersey, hat/visor, insurance, field maintenance, umpires, and league operations.
Q: What equipment does my child need?
A:
Q: Can my child use a USA bat?
A: Yes. All baseball bats must have the USA Baseball stamp and meet Little League regulations.
Q: Does the league provide helmets and catcherβs gear?
A: Yes, but players may bring their own if preferred.
π΅ REGISTRATION & FEES
Q: What does my registration fee cover?
A: Insurance, field permits, uniforms, equipment, umpires, utilities, and league operations.
Q: Do you offer financial assistance?
A: Yes. Please email us confidentially. We never want finances to prevent a child from playing.
Q: Are refunds available?
A: Yes, if the cancellation is requested prior to the start of the season.
π§ PLAYER PLACEMENT & EVALUATIONS
Q: Are evaluations the same as tryouts?
A: No! There are no tryouts in Little League. Evaluations are held in order to ensure that teams are divided fairly.
Q: Are evaluations mandatory?
A: Yes, for coach pitch, rookies, minors, intermediate divisions. Tball, junior softball/baseball and senior softball/baseball do not attend evaluations. Evaluations are not tryouts. We conduct evaluations to ensure that we are dividing players fairly amongst teams.
Q: Where are evaluations held?
A: 408 Church St. Williamstown in the batting cages.
Q: What should my child bring with them to evaluations?
A: Players should come with a glove, sneakers, water bottle. Softball players MUST have a face mask. Helmets and bats are optional - we will have them available for use.
Q: Can my child play up a division?
A: Requests are reviewed by the board and depend on skill level and safety considerations.
Q: Can my child play with a friend?
A: We try our best in younger divisions, but cannot guarantee specific placements. In the spring, rookies baseball, minors baseball and softball, majors softball, and intermediate baseball are all drafted divisions. Coaches will complete a snake style draft after evaluations on 2/28.

Q: Do I have to volunteer?
A: We are a 100% volunteer-run organization. We rely on families to help with snack stand, field prep, and events.
Q: How do I become a coach?
A: Register as a volunteer during player registration.
Q: Are background checks required?

Q: Where are games played?
A: Games are held at three different fields:

Owen's Park - 700 N. Tuckahoe Rd. Williamstown, NJ 08094
Specific field assignments will come from your coach.

A: Please arrive 30 minutes before game time unless your coach says otherwise.
Q: Can siblings come to games?
A: Absolutely β but parents are responsible for supervising siblings at all times.

Q: What is the code of conduct?
A: We promote sportsmanship, respect, and positive encouragement. Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
Q: Can parents sit in the dugout?
A: No. Only rostered players and approved volunteers are permitted.
Q: What if I have a concern about a coach?
A: Please follow our 24-hour rule. Wait 24 hours after a game before contacting the coach. If unresolved, contact the league.

Q: Is softball run differently than baseball?
A: Divisions and rules differ slightly, but both operate under Little League guidelines.

Q: Is the concession stand open every game?
A: We do our best, but it depends on volunteer availability and weather.
